Feiyang Protech’s F420 (equivalent to Desmophen® NH1420) is a fast, well-balanced polyaspartic ester resin designed to help formulators achieve high performance with higher efficiency.
As industrial coatings move toward greener solutions, regulations are increasingly driving lower-VOC technologies and the gradual replacement of highly polluting, solvent-rich systems. In this context, solvent-free and high-solids approaches have become a primary direction for the coatings industry.
F420 is solvent-free, with a viscosity of roughly ~1,000 cps, making it suitable for formulating high-solids or solvent-free coatings while helping reduce VOC emissions at the source. This supports green manufacturing goals and contributes to a better working environment for coating applicators.
Just as importantly, F420 delivers real productivity gains. When paired with an HDI trimer, it can achieve 15-minute touch dry time and 40-minute hard dry time—significantly faster than conventional systems. This faster turnaround improves efficiency in industrial, anticorrosion, waterproofing, and flooring applications—shortening project cycles, lowering application costs, and supporting cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives.

Polyaspartic polyurea is a new type of aliphatic, slow-reacting, high-performance coating material that has emerged in the polyurea industry in recent years, and it is often referred to as the third generation of polyurea.
Polyaspartic polyurea is mainly formed through a rapid addition reaction between isocyanate groups (–NCO) and aspartate ester groups (–NH₂), producing tough urea linkages (–NH–CO–NH–) and building a highly crosslinked three-dimensional network structure. This reaction typically follows a “slow-to-fast” process: the aspartate ester acts as a “blocked” amine, delaying the reaction so that application becomes more controllable, ultimately forming a high-performance, solvent-free protective coating.
Polyaspartic polyurea technology creatively replaces the –OH groups used in traditional polyurethane technology and the –NH₂ groups used in spray polyurea with –NH groups, and introduces electron-withdrawing groups into the structure to further reduce reactivity. As a result, the application and coating process of polyaspartic polyurea becomes simpler, enabling a broader range of applications.
Polyaspartic coatings are premised on the reaction between polyisocyanate and a polyaspartic ester, an aliphatic diamine. This synthesis yields a novel aliphatic polyurea floor coating system, known for its desirable UV resistance and color stability. Polyaspartic resins outshine their counterparts like epoxy and acrylate, thanks to superior mechanical and chemical properties, such as adhesion, solvent resistance, and overall durability.

In July 2023, Feiyang launched the design and construction of a new 26,000-ton polyaspartic materials project. Upon full operation, the project will raise Feiyang’s total resin production capacity to 46,000 tons. It has significantly upgraded the original polyaspartic resin production process by establishing a fully automated production line that integrates raw material storage, manufacturing, and packaging. As a result, labor requirements have been reduced by 50%, while output per employee has doubled. In addition, the upgraded production line now enables the direct production of high-purity bio-based polyaspartic polyurea resin.
